Our ride will be a struggle in it self, paralleling the struggle those afflicted with mental illness have. Success then is for us to complete our ride to St. John’s and through all those who support us along the way raise the awareness and funds for mental illness.

The Cause:
Raising awareness for the mentally ill and the stigma attached to this and the consequences in their lives as a result of this.

The Quest:
In May 2006, Jan Nilsson, Charlie Fox and Gerry Owen will hop on bicycles and ride across Canada to raise money and (more important) to raise awareness and reduce the stigma for our homeless who suffer from mental illness. This time rather than trying to sneak a few homeless people into a shelter for the night, we hope to shed light on the plight of people most of us would rather forget.

What you can do:
We want your money, but more than that we want your heart. We want you to imagine the pain and isolation of those our society would rather ignore and we want to encourage the homeless mentally ill to stand up and claim for themselves the help and support they so desperately need. We need sponsors, we need organizers we need shameless publicity seekers and we need your encouragement and support.
