Pastor Curtis Aguirre grew up in California, U.S.A, and Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree (History major) from California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, CA, and his Master of Divinity degree from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, Berkeley, CA. He was ordained in 1988. Before coming to Hope Lutheran Church, he served congregations in Vancouver, BC, and New Westminster, BC.
